The Challenge

Grand Lake Casino lacked a modern-day accounting solution, which created disjointed processes and inefficiencies. Working with its existing outsourced accounting firm had also led to limited control over its financial data and delayed financial reporting. Leaders wanted an ERP system they could manage and rely on, as well as support and comprehensive training for the casino’s management team to handle the transition effectively.

The Solution

Wipfli began by assessing Grand Lake’s processes and identifying areas of improvement, such as getting financial data to end-users more quickly. The team then implemented Wipfli’s Sage Intacct “golden image” solution, tailored specifically for casinos, and helped improve Grand Lake’s accounting operations. During the transition, Wipfli provided outsourced support and worked closely with management, training them on financial reporting, dashboard setup and best practices to deliver seamless integration and operation of the new system.

The results

With Wipfli’s ongoing support, the implementation of Sage Intacct significantly improved Grand Lake Casino’s financial processes and reduced its chart of accounts from 680 to less than 270. With 44 active users in the system, the casino’s team moved from paper-based to electronic approvals and can now access financial data quickly and efficiently. The streamlined procurement process has also saved considerable time, and the management’s increased understanding of financials has led to more informed decision-making.
